I’ve been studying Russian with SIA BORN for 6 months and had an amazing time doing so.
During my stay many students came and went that were there for a shorter period of time, but the classes never had more than 4 people at the time, so that gave you a lot of quality time with the teachers.
The school also provided guided tours both in Riga and nearby cities which was a nice incentive, and also recommended a Ukrainian Refugee Language exchange where you could practice your Russian in a less formal setting after school hours.
I used the shared flat accommodation and was very pleased with it’s location, it was only a few minutes away by bus from the school, walking distance from the city centre and very close to bars, restaurants, gyms and grocery shopping.
When I first arrived I was unable to read, write or speak a single word of Russian other than “привет” and by the end of my stay I was well into A2 level and could understand the vast majority of everyday conversations and had all lessons 100% in Russian – but for speaking freely and choosing the right grammatical ending I still need to practice a lot more!
10/10 experience would highly recommend to anyone interested in studying the Russian language in Riga
