26.02.2019

Do you love the weekends as much as we do? Join us on an escape from Riga and surround yourself with nature in total peace and tranquility. Why not book a unique program that allows you to explore 2 cities – Kraslava and Daugavpils! You can spend your weekend at the historical Lielborne Manor and enjoy a well-deserved relaxing weekend from Friday to Sunday. Practice your Russian in an informal environment while enjoying a multitude of amazing free time activities. Let’s spend the weekend at Lielborne Manor!

Friday – Get ready for your weekend!

Your amazing weekend starts on Friday afternoon, traveling by train to Daugavpils. Daugavpils is the second largest city in Latvia, hosting the biggest population of Russian speakers in the country. There will be a bus transfer to Lielborne Manor, where our new Executive Russian Language Center will soon open. Spend your evening at the manor with a leisurely dinner, followed by activities with your teacher for an hour.

Saturday – A day for relaxing and exploring

Good morning! Take your time and enjoy a delicious breakfast with a cup of flavored coffee before a half-day trip to Kraslava. There will be an excursion to the historical and romantic Kraslava castle complex followed by a spectacular boat trip down the Daugava River. Enjoy the scenery as you traverse through the famous nature park from Kraslava to Lielborne Manor. Your eyes will be bedazzled by 50 shades of lush and green Latvian nature. An appetizing picnic lunch will be held at the manor will be extra appealing for sure! The afternoon is your free time to relax and admire manor’s surrounding nature or to be enjoying other free time activities (see tips below). Dinner will be followed by a common activity with your Russian language teacher.

Sunday – Trip to Daugavpils and back to Riga

What can be better than a lazy Sunday morning? You have until 11.15 for free time and breakfast. At 11.30, we will depart on an excursion to Daugavpils. Lunch will be served after, followed by an excursion at the Daugavpils Fortress. For our art lovers, there is an opportunity to visit the Mark Rothko Art Center (www.rothkocenter.com) to look and view original paintings at a beautiful gallery. Afterward, we will return to the city center. Those who wish to return to Riga may hop on a 16.00 train back, or you can explore more of Daugavpils and return to Riga at a later time.

Free time activities during your weekend consist of: Individual Russian lessons based on the school pricing list, fishing, horse riding at the horse ranch ”Klajumi” (slow for beginners, ride-therapy, and relaxing on horseback), cycling, walking, swimming, reading, sunbathing, playing ball or badminton, an obstacle park, butterfly watching, extra boating, a visit to church, or even planting a bush or tree in the park for the next generation to enjoy!
